During her studies, she did research on antimicrobial resistance, molecular biology and genetics and, after graduating, focused on melanoma followed by inflammatory responses in cystic fibrosis. Ilic studied Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Saskatchewan and obtained a B.Sc. He is a member of the Canadian Retina Society.ĭr. Bhatti decided to pursue his passion for treating diseases of the retina and completed the Queen’s University Retina Fellowship in July 2017-2018. Bhatti completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute where he served as Chief Resident and received the Department of Ophthalmology Teaching Award. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the Kinesiology Co-operative program at the University of Waterloo on the Dean’s Honours List. Bhatti specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery and medical retina. He has taken on the role as Medical Educator for the department and is involved in teaching both medical students and residents. Bhatti joined the Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Ottawa Eye Institute. Adil Bhatti is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She is part of the ophthalmology group at the Riverside campus of the Ottawa Hospital and provides cataract and specialized glaucoma care and surgery at the Riverside Eye Care Center.ĭr. Her practice includes cataract and glaucoma surgery at iCare Surgical Center. She is a member of the Canadian Ophthalmology Society and Canadian Glaucoma Society (CGS). She has also completed a Masters of Education Concentration in Health Professions Education from the University of Ottawa. She obtained her FRCSC certificate in 2017 and then completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Alberta. She then completed a second residency at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute where she served as chief resident. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine in Iran and was trained as an ophthalmologist. She joined the Department of ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute in 2017 and, since then, has been involved in teaching residents, medical students and ophthalmic technician students. She specializes in glaucoma and cataract surgery. Abtahi is a faculty member at the University of Ottawa.
