12/21/2023 0 Comments Wargame red dragon decks 2016That prevent SAMs to fokus on an evacing jet while the missiles race towards the ship, or the other way around. One will be for aircraft, and one for missiles. To make them more effective, SAM systems on destroyers will have two firing channels. SAMs will make up the biggest layer of the defence network a ship has. This will make such guns only usefull for defending the ship which they are mouted on and not a whole fleet. For example, CIWS will have a lower range. Some general things about naval combat will be changed. Each naval force will consist of destroyers, frigates, fast attack craft, helicopters, planes and coastal artillery, if the coalition has it. The only exception might be CSTO, as their naval force would probably not be very useful. Navies in Crimean Escalation will be coalition based, so each coalition (or nation, in case of the US and Russia) will have it's own naval units, and can't use the naval units of others. Though naval combat had a rather low popularity in Red Dragon, I will try to make it enjoyable in Crimean Escalation, as it will be especially important for the campaigns to be added later. There is a Steam Group which you can join if you want organized multiplayer games and you can leave any comments here or on the Eugen forums page, where you also a find a detailed list of features. A campaign might be done someday, but that is certainly far in the future.Īnyway, I hope you enjoy Crimean Escalation. Version 0.1.12 introduced infantry mortars and the next thing to be tested is a cruise missile mechanic, with those being accurate strike weapons, which can however be shot down by high-end AA. However, other features are planned, too. So obviously, the biggest point on the list is giving these nations thier units. Yet the mod does not affect naval at all, and only two nations are featured. The deck system has also been reworked, and there are new unit types. Other changes include new countermeasure systems, such as smoke on tanks and some vehicles (activate by pressing the B key) or ECM on helicopters. Of course, only heavy helicopters like the Mi-26 or the CH-47 can perform such actions. Both internal and underslug transport on helicopters are simulated by them being able to transport light AFVs and jeeps or small trucks. Russia for example only gets the T-72 and T-90 lines and no T-80s.Ĭrimean Escalation also brings new gameplay elements, one of the most significant being air-liftable vehicles. Also, for better gameplay and diversity, not every piece of equipment is in the mod. As the setting is still alternative history, some "unicorn" units and prototypes are still in, however, nations should not rely just on them. Therefore, I try to keep the unit lists authentic. ![]() But in order for the mod to feel good, realism is a big point aswell. The UI is also being partly overworked for a unique feeling. Also, skins by community members as pok, CrazyRus29 and FregFlogger or myself are implemented. For that reason, every unit icon and some weapon icons are being replaced. My main motivation was to create a good atmosphere. Now, I try to put enough time into it to release frequent patches with new content. The active and oped-hearted Wargame modding community helped me out often and contributed alot in terms of research, skin-making and technical advising. It took me quite a while to go from planning to actually doing, and from there to a first release. ![]() Inspired by the WiC MW Mod, which I still enjoy playing sometimes, I started working on this project. Then, RD came out and it had quite some potential for such a mod. However, I wanted to have such a game in modern scenario. I got the game and liked it really much, the atmosphere, the depth and the pace all felt really nice. ![]() I then came across Wargame when Airland Battle was in the pre-order beta. I firstly played World in Conflict, which was a good game, though too fast paced for me. The idea of making such a mod started with me looking for a modern combat RTS. As the original game, this mod is about an "what would have happend, if." scenario. The US and European countries send troops to Ukraine, where they face Russian forces. A hypothetical chain of events has triggered a large conflict between Russia and it's allies and the NATO. The new setting is the Crimean Peninsula in 2015. You could see it as a total conversion mod, though I am not that far yet. ![]() Enjoy new gameplay features such as smoke grenades, airlifted vehicles, a new deck system and many more!įirst of all, thanks for playing Crimean Escalation or at least being interested in it! As the summary says, this is a modern warfare mod for Wargame: Red Dragon. Play as USA, Ukraine, Poland, UK or Germany on BLUEFOR and Russia, Belarus, Kazachstan or Azerbaijan on REDFOR (The Alpha version yet only features US and Russia) Wargame Red Dragon is moved to the Crimea in 2015, with new or reworked nations and coalitions
